2nd Edition – 2020
Resilience and adaptation
Introduction
The 2nd edition marked the debut of the name Moinho Cine Fest and signaled the transition of the organization to Anartem – Cultural Association, while also becoming the first edition promoted by the Union of Parishes of Custóias, Leça do Balio and Guifões. Initially scheduled for April 2020, the edition was heavily affected by the pandemic, leading to the cancellation of the in‑person screenings.
Despite the circumstances, the festival received 2,142 submissions from 103 countries, from which 92 films representing 43 countries were selected. The programme was ultimately presented online in 2021, reaffirming the festival’s commitment to artistic diversity and to the promotion of micro and nano filmmaking.
