“O André Rodrigues está de parabéns por este belo festival de cinema na freguesia de Custóias, não só por introduzir cultura num município periférico do Porto, como também por prestar homenagem ao seu tio-avô Álvaro Martins de forma atenciosa e divulgar o seu trabalho aos visitantes e convidados. Um trabalho que merece todos os elogios possíveis. Devo acrescentar que a hospitalidade providenciada pelo André e pela sua mãe Isabel foi cinco estrelas; extremamente acessível e acolhedor. “Moinho is a small but important festival in the north of Portugal. Its focus is on local cinema as well as bringing other visions and talents from distant lands to this corner of the country. Despite its size, it makes the effort not only to hand out trophies and diplomas, but also to pay for the filmmakers’ screenings and even give cash prizes to the winners, something that is not very common in Portugal, even at large festivals. Above all, the MCF is a peaceful place for film lovers and producers, regardless of where they come from, where they can have their first experience with a real, ‘non-elitist’ audience.
